Family Picture

Family of four.....I think I'm seriously outnumbered now :) But I sure love my boys!!!

Grams and Mimi

I have to admit the only way that I have survived the past 2 weeks is because of my sweet mom and mother-in-law. Mom came back on her own initiative last Tuesday and stayed till Friday and my mother-in-law flew in Saturday morning and stayed till early this morning. We had a great time with both of them.

Weston made cinammon rolls with Mimi one day. He had big fun sitting up there with her helping her. He even ate some flour?? Weird.....the kid eats anything!
Every morning Mimi had to have her coffee and Weston had to have some too. Yes, I know...my kid will have a caffeine addiction at such an early age :) They were pretty cute sitting there sipping their coffee together.
Weston is already ready to take Caleb for a ride.....not sure if Caleb was enjoying it.
Snuggling with Mimi.....
Grams and her two boys.....
2 weeks....

Mimi and two of her boys....
While I'm at it....Happy Mother's Day to both of you....thanks for helping me out and being here for me the past few weeks. Thanks for all you do for us....we love you both and hope you have a great Mother's Day!

Big Boy Weston

Sitting on our little potty.....he spreads his legs wide and loves to watch it in there. The best part is getting to flush it. My....the excitement of a 2 year old.

The naked fireman.....

We want to do everything JUST like dad these days.....he is his shadow on the weekends. Do you think he's growing up a little too quick....shaving already???

Working at his new tool bench just like dad does. I will say this boy can hammer! We've decided he might not can throw a ball but he can definitely swing a hammer!

His cool new hair style that dad fixed for him....

Have we regressed?

Here's the Story....

Well I guess I'm back to the blogging world. It's been quite an exhausting week or so and I haven't even thought about taking the time to get on here and blog about everything. Things are going well....everyday is different though. Here's a look back at the last 2 weeks....
Well I went for that doctor's appointment and they said he was big.....so I decided to wait and induce on Monday hoping he would come before then. I felt like the "boy that cried wolf" all weekend because I kept thinking it was time but then the contractions would ease up. It was pretty frustrating at times but obviously it isn't what the Lord wanted. My parents were both here at this point and Melody and the girls came in Sunday night. Monday morning we got up bright and early and headed to the hospital. I was still having contractions off and on but never consistently. After we got checked in, my nurse whom I loved, Andrea, checked me right off the bat. To my surprise I was almost a 5. I was really glad to hear that knowing that my body had obviously been doing something the last few days. She started me on pitocin (drug to induce labor) at 7:30am and contractions started coming about every 5 minutes. They weren't really painful and actually felt exactly like the ones I had felt all weekend. I was glad to know that I had actually been having contractions and not just Braxton Hicks or something. My doctor came in at 8:30am and broke my water and then things started happening very quickly. My contractions ramped up to about every 2 minutes quickly after she broke my water. I was dilated to a 6 to 7 and decided to go ahead and get the epidural. This was the most miserable experience with Weston's birth. BUT....it was so great this time. They actually did it right and I could still feel the contractions but not too painful. I was able to move my legs the entire time which is definitely what I wanted. By around 11:15 I was starting to feel some pressure but nothing to major yet. At 11:45 my nurse checked me and I was to a 9 1/2! I couldn't believe my ears....super pumped because that took about ALL day with Weston. She called my doctor and by 12:15 I was prepped and ready to push. Pushing is definitely my favorite part.....there is a goal and the prize is my baby boy getting here!! I pushed through about 4 contractions and he was out! His dad did cut the cord....but that's about as close to the action as he got. Caleb was perfect.....we both loved him immediately. He had the cutest high pitch cry. They got him all cleaned off and wrapped up. I still can't believe that I delivered an almost 9 lb baby! I guess I've got some good birthing hips or something :) We had a few moments with him before the "big brother" came in to see him. This was interesting! Weston wasn't too sure of him....he definitely didn't want to get to close to him. It took some time but he finally warmed up to him. Our sweet families came in and we got to celebrate Caleb together. It was the best. Our pastor even came in very soon after he was born and prayed over Caleb. That was really a neat thing and something we didn't get with Weston. We are so thankful for our church family and staff.

I really felt great for the most part after the delivery. It was 12 hours shorter than my labor with Weston! What a difference! We were taken down to my post-partum room soon after where we stayed until Wednesday around noon. The days in the hospital went really well. We had several sweet friends come up to visit. 2 more of our pastors from our church came up too. We were blown away by everyone's kindness. My sweet sister got a huge stork for our front yard. It was quite a sight as we pulled up to the house on Wednesday.

The boys and their sweet cousins :)

The first night at home was pretty rough.....not going to lie. Weston wasn't too nice to Mama...only wanted Dada which broke my heart. It was better on Thursday when Logan went to work but there are definitely still moments. He is giving him kisses and loving on him more and more though.
My sweet mom stayed until Friday and then went home for the weekend while Logan was home. I thought I could do it all by myself starting on Monday......um...not so much. I am what they call "sleep deprived!" She just felt like she needed to come back on Tuesday and I am SO SO grateful. I have had 2 days in a row of getting an afternoon nap and it's been grand. I mean 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep can do a mama wonders!
So we are just trying to figure all this out....one day at a time and lots of prayers! That has been one good thing about being up at all hours of the night feeding my little boy....lots of time to pray. Mom will go home on Friday and then Logan's mom will be here all next week.

We rode in the car on Saturday night just the 4 of us to pick up some food. It was so different with all 4 of us in my car. I wouldn't quite call the xterra a family car but it's going to be for awhile.

I took Caleb to his one week appointment on Monday and he weighed 8lbs and 9 oz....so he's trying his best to grow and get back up to his birthweight. For some reason I think he'll have no problems! I still can't believe he was a whole pound bigger than his brother when he was born. Several people have asked me if I am birthing the defensive line for our football team.....who knows??? It's starting to look that way :)

One week old....

Gosh, we are so thankful for our two boys! Sometimes I don't feel like life can get any better than this! We just thank the Lord for all He has done for us and know it is all because of Him.

Caleb Franklin Cross

Hello everyone! This is Logan and this is my first blog. I just wanted to say how proud I am of my beautiful wife and new son. Caleb came into this bright world at 12:44pm today. He tipped the scale at 8lbs 14.5oz and is 20 1/4" long

Mandy is doing well and so is Caleb. Weston is not quite sure what to think. All he knows is that one time he went in to see Mama and the next time he went in there was Caleb crying and he just stopped and looked at him with those big eyes, thinking "What just happened?"
Mandy was really impressed with all the hospital staff and how well everything went. We are so thankful for our little boy! And we boys are so thankful for Mandy (Mama). She is the best mom and wife we could ever ask for. She does so many things for us, and we are so blessed that she is a part of our life. I am looking forward to all the fun times ahead with our family. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and text messages. I am sure I left out a lot of details and Mandy will fill you in on all that I missed.

Big Brother is all Ready!!

Weston is ready to be a big brother....well I hope so at least. I'm sure he has no clue that his world is about to drastically change! We went and got his hair all cut yesterday....I really like it short now....he looks so big! So we're just sitting around waiting on Caleb....well not sitting...I walked last night....ran (yes, don't freak out) this morning....and trying to get Caleb to come. We'll see....I've had lots of contractions this morning so hopefully they'll turn into something! My sweet parents are here already getting everything ready....so great to have them here :)

Baby Update

Well I went back to the doctor yesterday to do the sonogram. Of course he measured big....and what measured the biggest?? His head! Yes, I was a little shocked and worried. Their estimate on his weight was 8 lbs and 6 oz!!! Already!!! The sono was so fun though.....everything looked perfect and we are so thankful for that. He was already practicing breathing! We could see him breathing fluid in and out. It was amazing!! She also could see a fat roll on his wrist already!!! Oh my! I guess he's going to be like his brother :)
I got in to see my doctor yesterday afternoon to go over the sono results and she's worried about him fitting for delivery. So she's inducing me on Monday morning at 7:00 if I haven't had him on my own by then. Our prayer is definitely for him to come on his own before then!!! I've had lots of contractions but nothing consistent. So I guess one way or another Caleb will be here Monday!

Easter Weekend

We had a different kind of Easter this year because we couldn't travel any see any family. It honestly was really nice to just be home and do stuff around the house. We missed getting to see our families though....but we should be seeing them really soon....or as soon as this little boy decides it's time to come out!!!
Friday morning our church had an Easter celebration for the kids. They got to play with bubbles, make crafts, and then hunt Easter eggs. I didn't practice with Weston at all but as soon as I gave him his basket, he knew exactly what to do. Here's some pictures of him. Thanks Mimi for the cute outfit! The shorts hang down to his ankles but they sure were cute.

This is his buddy Reid.....they are quite a team. I think Weston was probably hogging all the eggs.

On Saturday Logan worked in the garage all day building shelves. They look great and we actually have an organized garage! Of course he had a little helper right beside him the whole time. I'm sure his productivity only went up with Weston at his side.

I had gotten Weston a new shirt and a tie to wear to church....he looked pretty handsome in his outfit. Here is our family picture from the morning.

On Sunday we made burgers and ate outside on the backporch. Then we hid eggs for Weston in the front yard and let him go find them. He was really cute hunting them down. All he wanted to do was eat the candy in them...imagine that!

Here's some videos of him hunting.....the first one is him taking off to go find the eggs....he went right by all of them....silly boy.
Here's him finding them in the rocks.....
More hunting....
I tried to interview him and get him to say his words but all he cared about was eating the candy. Nice hair too!
