Arkansas RV Camping Trip!

So we've been wanting to rent an RV and do a long camping trip for awhile now.  We finally made it happen and planned a trip to northern Arkansas.  Logan and the older boys had met my brother in law at the Buffalo river several years ago for a father/son camping trip.  They had a great time and said how beautiful the river was.  We decided to go back to it.  It was a VERY long drive with pulling an RV but we made it!  We found a camp ground in the big town of Gilbert, Arkansas.  You can see the population of the town was 33 :).  Ha!!

After we set up the camper on Friday night we went hiking to find the river.  Lucy was very excited and had her raft in tow.  We got to play on the river for awhile.  It was a great first night!

The next morning we got up and had breakfast and I went for a run.  I ran around the "town" which was tiny.  It basically consists of one giant hill.  I dumbly told the boys about the big hill when I got back and how they should ride their bikes down it.  I wasn't really thinking that through.

Well while I was in the shower Logan came in and told me that Weston had had a very bad bike wreck.  He was bleeding a lot and his front teeth were loose.  Oh my.  I got ready really quick and drove him to a clinic that was about 45 minutes away.  They finally got him in and cleaned him up.  He was in a lot of pain but thankfully no broken bones.  It was the weekend so we couldn't get into a dentist.  We did the best we could with just having him eat really soft foods.  Since he had open wounds he definitely could not be in the river.  So this changed our trip quite a bit!!

This is the hill.  The worst part of it is that there is a speed bump at the bottom.  He didn't realize it till he got up to it and then his brakes didn't work quick enough.  He basically flipped over the front handle bars and went sliding.

So when we got back from the clinic Weston rested and the rest of us did a quick canoe trip down the river.  It was beautiful!  The others had a great time!

The next morning we got up and decided to drive to some caverns that were close called Blanchard Springs caverns.  It was like Carlsbad caverns.  The kids liked it and it was something that Weston could do with us!

And ice cream and skipbo on the way back makes everyone HAPPY!

Lots of Catan....this has definitely become our favorite family game!

The last day we spent it near the river.  We fished, played in the river, and later watched it rain while we watched a movie in the camper.

We found lots of seashells and treasures and SNOT (moss in the river).

Except for the bike wreck we had a great time together.  I love my crew!
