Weston decided (after a lot of prompting from his mom) to give cross country a try. He has done GREAT!!! The first practice he ran more than he's ever run at one time. He has continued to improve and improve over the season. This was his first meet over in Fort Worth.
Tyson was SO determined to learn to slalom this summer. He tried and tried and FINALLY got it!!! I was so proud of him!! He's 8 years old and slaloming!!!
I love this picture.....2 youngest ones talking about their tackle boxes and getting their lures ready
My little pirate....
So this was definitely a day to remember. We were out on the water about to quit for the day. I thought we were done and just doing one last run. Logan decided he wanted to surf at the very end so he was out doing it. Lucy and I think on of the girls had already changed and put their regular clothes back on but were in the boat with us. All of a sudden there was smoke (or I thought) coming out everywhere inside the boat. It started happening so fast that we all started totally freaking out. **Side not....the weekend before a boat had actually exploded right by the marina on the lake. They had fumes built up and it exploded. So that was in our minds.** So Melody and the kids started bailing out of the boat as quick as they could. It was crazy. We were all panicking because we didn't know if the boat was on fire or what was happening. Lucy was crying and kids were everywhere in the water. While that's going on the music on the boat is blaring. First it's praise music and then it's the Star Spangled Banner. Later this was hilarious.....at the time it was all tragic and scary!! Meanwhile I just turned the key off without even slowing down. Logan was behind the boat and almost ran into the boat because I stopped so abruptly. I finally jumped in and didn't really know what to do. I stayed there with Logan and we were trying to figure out what was going on. It was definitely steam but we didn't know why. We got back in the boat and went to the front of it. No one came for awhile and then a TINY John boat came to tow us. It was sorta hilarious. The boat was tiny and there were 3 men in it. They hooked up to our boat and slowly got us back to the dock. Thankfully we weren't too far from it. We got the boat in the slip and saw radiator fluid all around. Later we found out a hose had slipped off and radiator fluid went everywhere. We weren't real sure what caused it but it was super scary!!!
What a weekend. I wouldn't trade it for all the memories but it was crazy!!! Even though the boat didn't work we all had fun fishing and being together.
Look closely and you can see Charlie's new favorite spot.
