Arkansas Family Vacation

We had an amazing week away as a family in Arkansas.  We probably looked like a circus pulling out of our driveway but oh well!!!  We had bikes, boat, toys, and a puppy :).  Our first stop was Mena.  We rented a Can-am and spent a day driving it on all the trails.  It was very dusty but it was a blast.  The kids LOVED it and so did Charlie :).  

They gave you a map of all the different spots to stop and swim or see something cool.  It was a lot of fun.

After we got off the trails we packed it up and headed on to Lake Ouachita.  We made a quick dinner stop at the Diaryette....this was a favorite of Logan's back in the day when he worked at Camp Ozark!

We stayed at Harbor Lake Resort in a house.  It was right on the water and a great location.  Everything was pet friendly so Charlie got to be a part of all of it.

We hit the lake the next day.  It is a gorgeous lake and we loved being on the water!!!

We always love to find a lunch spot on an island on the lake.  It's fun to take our picnic and spend some time on the shore.

A storm came up decently quick so we tried waiting it out on the shore....it was POURING.  We all got drenched but it was ok!  Memories made....

We came back and had fun drinks in the hot tub!

And then we fished some from the dock at the house.

Breakfast the next morning and then we headed to mine for crystals.  Lucy was so excited about this!  Charlie even got to come along too.

We dug and dug and dug :).  It was a little toasty but it was fun to see what all we could find!

We came back and headed back to the lake for a few hours.

The next morning we had fishing guides that took us on Ouachita for a morning of fishing.  We had a great time!!  I was with Tyson and Caleb on my boat and of course it was a contest to see which boat caught more fish.  We won!!

We did a little hike later that afternoon as a storm was coming in.

That night we drove into Hot Springs and went to an escape room.  Weston was excited about this :).  We escaped....barely!

The next day we drove back to Hot Springs and went to a water park/amusement park called Magic Springs.  There was quite a bit closed down but we made the most of it and had a great day!!

This was the coaster that Tyson and Caleb did OVER and OVER again because a couple of girls kept following them and they laughed and screamed the entire time.  It was hilarious.....

We found an awesome lunch spot and spent a while hanging out.  It was so relaxing!!!

We went out for dinner at another resort that night on the boat.  On the way back it was completely dark so we got to use the lights.  They all loved this!!

Our house was a bit "historical" and the owner of the resort had actually lived there for a long time.  It had a lot of interesting paintings and decorations.  This cracked me up!  A portrait of a lab puppy....so I had to make Charlie pose in front of it.  HA!

We had to head home the last day.....sad to leave but it was an awesome week!

Sadly we had a flat on the way home but everything went smooth and we were able to get it fixed quickly.
