While we were in Kansas over Labor Day, Grandpa Cross passed away. He was 84 years old and had been battling parkinson's for about 10 years now. We were able to be there and see him before he passed away. I ended up just changing my flight and staying in Kansas for the week, but Logan came home and worked a few days and then headed back up on Friday for the funeral. The funeral and burial were on Saturday. The service was in El Dorado were he had lived and worked the family oil buisness for many years. The burial was in Virgil, Kansas. I didn't really get to know him very much since he has been up in Kansas and unable to travel very much, so the funeral was so neat to me to hear about his life and the man that he was. He was described as a man of integrity.....honest and as one who always did the right thing. It was really neat to hear all of those things and to be able to tell Weston about him one day. Grandpa Cross is who Weston is named after. He was Charles Vernon Cross and Weston is Weston Charles Cross. We drove out to Virgil where he grew up. I had never been out there before so it was so neat to see everything. Grandpa Cross has a huge farm out there with many acres. It was beautiful to see. In the cemetry where he was buried were lots of other family members. It was so neat to see our heritage and learn about the Cross side of the family. I know you probably aren't supposed to take pictures of the headstones but I did because I want to remember all of them.
