Zoo, Playgroups, and Big Boy Carseat

I've been wanting to go to the zoo forever....I think even since before I was pregnant. Well we finally had it planned to go yesterday. We woke up Saturday morning and it was cold and the wind was blowing 100mph....ok..not really but it was really windy. Well we braved the weather and decided to go ahead and go. They were showing our house anyway so we had to get out. It was great! The zoo was lots of fun. Weston loved all the animals....I think he liked the fish the best because he got to stand right against the glass and stare at them. They have a petting zoo part so he got to pet a goat with his dad. We only stayed a few hours but we had a great time. But I must say they didn't have any GIRAFFE! That's my favorite animal so I have to admit I was a little disappointed. But that's okay...maybe next time. Maybe it was too windy for his long neck :)

We are in another playgroup now with some girls from Boerne. We took a picture at our first play date. Why is my son always the one eating and with his tummy hanging out of his shirt???

The high school that I taught at in Boerne called and needed someone to tutor some students for the upcoming TAKS test. Catherine and I decided to do it and take turns tutoring and babysitting. So he is getting a lot of time to play with his buddy Braden. It's giving me a glimpse of what having 2 kids will be like....but thankfully they won't be 4 months apart like these two! That would be a lot of work!

We broke the rules by about 2 weeks because we got his new big boy carseat and we went ahead and let him face the front in the car. He loves it. The backseat of my car sits up quite a bit anyway so it basically seems like he is sitting on a throne when he is in my car. He's pretty cute to watch in it. He loves to cross his little feet in it :)

No walking yet....but he is just so cute when he stands up on his tip toes to see out the windows. I love watching him.

He is still eating me out of house and home. This is him eating dinner and just making an absolute mess of himself and loving every minute! It's the cutest. He loves to just stop in the middle of eating and just grin at you. He's quite the ham these days.

Hiking with the Irons

Last Sunday afternoon, Grant and Brittany (and Bailey) invited us to go hiking with them. We went to Governor's State park in San Antonio. It was so much fun! Gosh we love having them close!! And yes, those are stick antennas in my hair thanks to my husband :)

Here are a few pics of Weston's curls these days. He is really starting to have a lot of hair and the little whispies above his ears are the cutest! He's got a lot of curls to go before he looks like his dad though :)

11 months!

Weston is 11 months old! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. He gets more and more fun everyday. Here's some of the things he's been doing lately.......taking a few steps on his own, standing by himself for longer periods of time, drinking whole milk!!, eats anything and everything we put in front of him, says "mama" and "dog" all the time, getting more curls in the back of his head, giggling all the time, still out weighing everyone in his age by a long shot, eating chocolate chip pancakes, likes to jump in his crib, flirt with other people in the store, try to stand up in the grocery cart, loves to swing at the park and go down the slide ALL by himself, loves to splash in the bathtub and get mom wet, wiggle all around on the changing table and make it impossible to get a diaper on him, and many more things. I'm busy planning his little party for the big 1 year! All the immediate family is driving down....it should be a lot of fun. I'm doing a construction theme for it.
Well I sure do love him to pieces.....he gets LOTS of kisses everyday.....just can't seem to kiss those chubby cheeks enough. Here's some pics of him from the past several days and lots of video that we've taken lately.

Happy Birthday POPS!

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday Pops. I sure do love you. Hope you have fun today. I miss you lots......Love~Weston
Weston sure does love his pops. As soon as we get to their house all he wants to do is go to Pops! He loves playing with him and being right with him. I'm sure they will have many fun days ahead of fishing, golfing, riding the tractor, and who knows what else. Makes me so happy to see them together!
