Dad's Heart Attack!

Well its been several weeks now but one Thursday night mom called around 9pm and said they were at the ER and that dad was having chest pains.  I went up there immediately to be with them.  He was in a lot of pain.  They called it a stemmi...bascially a sustained heart attack.  He had blockage and needed a stint ASAP.  So around 11pm or so they had him back and doing surgery.  He got done in about an hour and they put in one stint in his LAD which is his main artery.
They kept him in ICU for several days.  It was much worse that we at first thought or knew.  His heart suffered some damage just because of the blockage.  The monitored him for several days and then finally he was released to a regular room.
This crew couldn't quite understand why Pops had to be in the hospital.  There sweet little prayers were always "help Pops heart get stronger and stronger.".....these 4 love that man to pieces.  Actually when he was in ICU the nurses let him get on a portal monitor and walk down to the waiting room.  It was really good for him to see them and vice versa.  When he got in his regular room we were able to bring them up there to him.  He was finally released but has to wear a life vest for 90 days.  This is basically a defibrillator that he wears all the time.  It's to protect him in case it happens again.  He is recovering well and even was riding one of the boys bikes a few days after he came home from the hospital....crazy!!!

We are so grateful he is ok and is getting better and better!!!
