Kids got off a Friday and Monday so we planned a quick getaway back to Arkansas. We brought the Can-am and the puppies! Everyone was excited for a little getaway. We found a cabin in Pangburn, Arkansas. It was a tiny town but we found plenty to do. It was so relaxing and the perfect getaway.
Rosie was excited to get to come along this time too :)
The first full day we were there we did a fishing trip with a guide on the Little Red river. They are known in that area for trout fishing. We had a funny old man, Sam, that was our guide. He was actually deaf so that made for an interesting day. Sadly it wasn't our day....the fish weren't really biting. We got maybe 4 fish I think but it was still fun and the river was just beautiful!!!
We came back to the house and just relaxed. Logan and Lucy took the kayak down the river. I sat in the sun and it was the best...my favorite spot.
Rosie had fun swimming with Charlie and playing in the mud. They were the cutest.
Caleb found the hot tub and had himself a good time :)
We made burgers for dinner and just hung out. Such a fun and relaxing night. Logan and I sat on the dock that night talking and actually saw a comet! It was pretty awesome!
I might've fallen asleep on the couch.....
The next morning was slow and relaxing. I went for a run and we slowly got ready for the day. We went for some hiking the next day with the pups! We went to Sugarloaf mountain for our first hike. It was pretty steep so we took turns with going to the top so someone could stay back with the pups.
We came back to the cabin and had lunch and the boys fished. They also worked on dislodging the water pump that was stuck by the dock. It was something to tackle and figure out. They ended up using the wench on the can-am to pull it out.
The went went and did another hike at Collins Creek. We found a spot on the Little Red river that was so pretty....Caleb flew his drone and we skipped rocks. So pretty!
Then we did another short hike at Cornelius falls. Sadly it was all dried up but still pretty. Then we did another hike right next to it called Bridal Falls. It was so pretty. There were some odd people hanging out around it so it made for an interesting memory. We took some pictures and then headed back up.
Then we stopped at Sonic and they got dessert (shakes) and we went to the sandy beach area at Greers Ferry lake. It was amazing sand and so fun. The dogs ran and we just played. Caleb played country music on his phone and asked me to dance in the sand. That kid. Then Logan and I danced and him and Lucy. It was so beautiful because the sunset was gorgeous.
We headed back to cabin and played Sequence. Such a fun day together!!
The next day we had another slow morning....went running and everyone just did their own thing for awhile. It was so relaxing. Then we headed to a place that had ATV trails. It was interesting when we drove up. They had a Rottweiler dog which was scary enough. We didn't want Charlie or Rosie getting anywhere close to it. It was basically this man's property and he had created obstacles and trails that you could drive your ATV on. Most of them were huge mud pits. We signed in and took off. We had the place to ourselves.
It was a blast. The very first obstacle we got stuck and had to use the wench to get out. The boys thought it was the best :). Then we did all the others.....let everyone drive and laughed a ton. the dogs had the best time too.
This was a bad stuck.....had to use the wench but finally got unstuck!
Dirty puppy but super happy puppy :)
We had lunch on the trailer :). Picnic style and so much fun. Then we loaded back up and went for some more.
Afterwards we headed back to the cabin. Weston thankfully took the Can-am for a bath and we started cooking dinner. We decided to cook all the fish they had caught. We had 9 fish and it was yummy and plenty!
Then smores on the grill! They were under a burn ban but we made the best of it :). We all played sequence again and did a lot of laundry. Fun day!
Headed home! Amazing trip....we just love this state! I'm so thankful we got to get away and spend a few days together. Everyone had a great time and I'm so thankful I felt good to enjoy it all with my crew. I love them so much!
