Angel Fire Ski Trip!

Very last minute we decided to take a quick ski trip to Angel Fire.  We literally booked the condo less than a week out from going.  Right before we left is when all the coronavirus stuff was ramping up.  We were a little worried about it but decided to go ahead with our plans!  And you just never know....so I packed some extra rolls :).  We left pretty early and got there in time to rent our gear for the next day.

Little game of pinecone baseball the first night :)

We were all suited up and ready to go!

I had forgotten how exhausting it is to get to this point.  Walking with all the ski and poles uphill with tired children.  Whew!!!  It was good to finally get on the snow!

Fun first day.  Everyone did great and remembered what they learned from last year!

A bit tired at the end of the day.....
Uno for the evening entertainment :)
Our fancy comforter and bed :)  Ha!

2 Braids for the last day!!

So the coronavirus ramped up and so then all the Colorado resorts and most of the New Mexico resorts closed down.  Then they announced the last day for Angel Fire was Monday which was our last day of skiing too.  We somehow timed that just right!

I had never seen a line like this at a ski resort!  We decided to take an early lunch and by the time we came back it was died down.  We skied the back of the mountain all afternoon and it was great!!

This little girl did awesome!!!  She is a snow plow queen!  She took off her "pizza rope" (little bungie rope that kept her skis together at the top) and did amazing.  She never stopped....just kept skiing and skiing!

And Caleb....he was a dare devil....begging us to let him go down blacks.  So we took him!  He did great and loves to ski!!

Tyson has improved so much too!  He even skied some blacks too.  He goes so fast I barely get pictures of him!!

Weston did amazing too!  He skied anything and everything....blacks, blues and greens.  His sister loved being with him and he would ski with her too.  He did great!

The Oetgens were in Angel Fire about the same time we were.  They don't ski but they had us over for dinner the last night.  We had a great time.  Kids loved being together of course!

It's SO fun for us to be able to do this as a family.  It was a quick trip but I'm so glad we got to go!  I love that my kids love snow skiing!!  So grateful for fun time with them.  Now back to home for several weeks of school off because of the virus.  Things are changing daily so we don't really know what's ahead.  I sure am grateful for extra time with them though!
