Camping!!

Well my mother-in-law called us "gluttons for punishment" when we told her we went camping the very next weekend after we got back from South Padre. Didn't we learn anything about kids sleeping away from home?? Oh well! We had this planned with our Sunday school class. Our class is a pretty good size but yet only 3 families signed up for the fun night of camping :) That's ok! We had a great night for the most part. We went camping north of Boerne actually at a neighborhood that is on the Guadalupe river. It has a really neat homeowner park that you can camp at. We got out there Friday night and stayed till Saturday morning.

The Robersons and Garcias were the brave ones that camped with us. Logan has lots of help getting the tent stakes in the ground. Grant, Jake and Weston had a blast helping set up the tents. It's funny how things like this seem to take twice as long now. Also I've noticed we have to camp with twice as much stuff!!
The Garcia's have a sweet little girl named Lyla. She is the cutest. I think Caleb was checking her out :)
It got really cold on Friday night. We're thinking it got down to 40 degrees...maybe lower. Lucky for us we had a space heater in our tent.....I think it ran all night. Caleb slept great and was quite cozy. Weston on the other hand just couldn't quite calm down enough to give it up. He was tossing and turning till midnight! Not fun! He was up again about 6:30.....bouncing off the walls (in a tent). It's definitely hard to keep a 2 year old quite in a tent in the morning.
We had some big helpers with the wood for the fire. Actually I think Travis and Logan were just cleaning out their trucks :)
We got to eat hotdogs and smores on Friday night. Weston just carried around his piece of chocolate bar and licked it like a lollipop. And we wonder why he wouldn't go to sleep??? Hmm....
The Roberson tent seemed to have a great night. We think they must have given their boys something in their smores :) Just kidding.....it was their first time camping and they loved it! We're hoping for many more camping trips together!!!

My sweet Caleb got the award for the night. He slept great and was just as happy as can be! I love his tobaggon!!! So cute!
So I'm thinking camping for the next year or so might need to take place in our backyard......we'll see :)
